I hold a BA in English Language and Literature from the University of Oxford, and I'm currently completing an MLitt in Creative Writing at the University of Glasgow. I've been tutoring for over five years, working with students of all ages and abilities, from primary school through to A Level and university admissions. Outside teaching, I'm an avid reader and writer, and I love playing squash and padel. My approach to tutoring is rooted in curiosity, conversation, and building confidence. I believe the best lessons encourage students to think independently, challenge ideas, and develop their own voices. Whether we're tackling a difficult Shakespeare passage or working on writing skills, I aim to make every lesson engaging and supportive. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing a student gain confidence in their abilities and achieve something they once thought was beyond them.
I show students exactly what each exam question requires, giving them confidence while fostering a genuine love of English beyond the classroom. I've helped students achieve grade 9s, and one improve from a 4 to an 8.
Many students understand a text but struggle to turn their ideas into convincing analysis. I teach them to unpack quotations, explore alternative interpretations and structure clear arguments, helping them develop their own analytical voice and write with confidence.

Meet your tutor first and see if it feels right. Natalie will help you choose the support that suits your child best, 1-to-1 tutoring, live classes, or both.
I'm currently writing a dystopian science-fiction novel and love reading everything from literary fiction to creative nonfiction.
Outside books, I enjoy playing squash and padel, hiking, travelling and exploring new places.
One student never believed she could achieve two grade 9s. We worked closely on her English, but just as importantly, her confidence. I'll never forget her transformation into a student who walked into her exams believing in herself.
